Backroads Reservations launches new phone app
Spencer and Jess Forrest, owners of Backroads Reservations Vacation Home Rentals, recently announced the debut of their new phone app, an extensive Hill Country travel guide that is available now.
Backroads Reservations, a Bandera vacation management company, developed an app designed to cover the gamut of things to do, places to go, and people to see in not only Bandera, but many other areas in the Hill Country.
It is a comprehensive guide allowing users to peruse through listed towns quickly and efficiently, then drill down into each one for detailed resources, such as restaurants, shopping, parks, kid-friendly places, stores, bars and other things to do. Maps and directions are included.
The app touts to feature hundreds of local businesses, attractions, events, and much more.
It lists a total of 16 cities, each predicated with a descriptive profile to set the history and tone of each town.
Jess said they aim to offer guests a true vacation experience so that they will return again and again.
“The key to any app”, says Jess, “is having that real estate on people’s phones. Once it’s there, they’ll access it often.”
Per Jess, merchants do not have to pay to have their businesses listed, as long as they are businesses that visitors would typically patronize. Interfaced with the travel guide, a reservation ID and check-in date will link you to valuable, customized info before and during your visit, and no personal data is ever collected, according to their website.
After a rental is reserved, the app provides all the details you will need prior to your visit.
“No more guesswork!” declares Backroads Reservations. “This info is tailored to your specific rental.”
The Spencers, who had a software development business, moved from Austin after they fell in love with Bandera and its culture, they said, then purchased Backroads Reservations.
Jess quipped, “Couple buys vacation rental business only to realize they will never ever take a vacation again.”
