Bandera Library Happenings
All of us here at the library would like to congratulate our Library Director, Mauri Fagan and her husband Matt on the arrival of their baby boy! We are so happy and excited for them and their newest addition to their family.
We have so many exciting things going on this summer at the Bandera Kronkosky Public Library! Make sure you stay up to date with library events by following us on social media (@banderalibrary) or signing up for our monthly newsletter.
The Library will be closed on Monday, July 4th in observance of Independence day. Make sure you come by and get all your books, movies or audiobooks before the long weekend. Check out our July 4th display for some recommended readings.
We have just a couple weeks left of our Summer Reading Program but it’s not too late to join in on the fun! Each Tuesday at 10 a.m. until July 12th, children ages 5-12 are welcome to join us for reading activities, arts, crafts and more. If you have not registered your kids yet, be sure to contact the library to do so.
While the Summer Reading Program is still going on, we will be replacing our weekly Story Time program with a weekly Makerspace Meet Up. Our Makerspace is a designated space for self-directed creative learning. Kids of all ages are encouraged to build and create using the materials at hand. This activity helps foster creative thinking and problem solving skills. The Makerspace Meet Up will be held on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. Story Time will return on July 14th.
This summer we are also hosting a Summer Reading Challenge for adults and teens. The Summer Reading Challenge consists of 14 titles from different countries around the world. Whoever reads the most books from our reading list and turns in their reading guide by August 31st, wins a prize. Stop by the library to pick up a reading guide today!
Are you looking for a new adventure? Join our weekly Dungeons & Dragons group! Every Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. the group meets to slay dragons, fight pirates or explore the jungle all from the safety of our Downstairs Meeting Room. Heroes of all ages and skill level are welcome to join. Start your next adventure this Saturday!
The Bandera Kronkosky Public Library is open Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Curbside service is available for checkouts and business services. Free Wi-Fi is available 24/7. Check out our website www.banderacountylibrary.org for all up-to-date information.
Happy tales, y’all.
Ashley Montes is a Staff Librarian at the Bandera Public Library.
