Art club’s season concludes
The Kerrville Art Club (KAC) held the final meeting of the season on May 17 at the Hill Country Arts Foundation with a salad luncheon.
The meeting started with a challenge: what was something that challenged you while making an art piece?
Five members showed an art piece and discussed what was challenging while creating the piece.
The Artist of the Year award was presented to Doreen Shann for her pastel painting “The Virgin Teapot,” which was the Artist of the Month winner in February.
Other Artist of the Month winners in competition for the award were Elaine Capers, Cindy Peyton, Lynn Marie Jones, Christina Wheeler and Kandi Stimson.
Installation of new officers was also held at this meeting.
Rosemary Suess, a past president, administered the Oath of Office to the newly elected group of officers.
Swearing to their new duties were Robert Behan, President; Lynn Lindley, Vice President; Cindy Peyton, Treasurer; Patrick McDaniel, Publicity; Dawn Weyer, Membership; Karen Oldham, Shows; and Elaine Capers, Programs.
After a summer break, the Club will resume the regular meeting schedule of the second Tuesday at 2:00 starting in September.
