Bandera Library Happenings
We are closing in on the end of our Summer Reading Program. Tuesday, August 3, is our last date and we will be celebrating with a party with treats and cotton candy. Be sure to bring your child’s reading log sheets.
The two kids who read the most during the program will win a special prize!
Our thanks to BEC for supporting the Summer Reading Program and to all of our volunteers who helped.
If you are an adult or teen participating in our Summer Reading Challenge, keep on keeping track of your reads using your log.
The Challenge will conclude at the end of August. The patron who read the most from each of the different categories will receive a $25 gift card to the Dough Joe.
It’s not too late to sign up! You can count all the titles you have read since the beginning of June.
Stop by or call the Library for more details.
Have you read a book recently that just knocked your socks off? Share your must-reads on our new patron review board that we are calling “Check This Out!”
If there is a title you can’t wait to tell others about or if you really cannot decide what to read next, look at patron review board for some inspiration!
It does not have to be a new release, it might be a classic or a book you were supposed to read in high school and revisited as an adult. Consider it extra credit for turning in a book report.
New titles out this week include Heather Graham’s latest thriller called “The Forbidden.”
Avalon Morgan is an actor whose most recent role is the victim of a vampire king set off the coast of New Orleans.
The spooks and scares are all fun until an actual victim of real killer is found in the middle of the set.
Now Avalon finds herself obsessed with the grisly crime scene and the investigator assigned to the case.
Grayson Avery has worked on many murder cases and seen his fair share of witnesses bungling things in their effort to help the authorities.
But Avalon is different, and her keen sense of sleuthing comes naturally.
Working together, they get close to finding a culprit until the entirety of the evidence goes missing.
It becomes uncomfortably clear Avalon and Grayson can only trust each other.
The Bandera Library is open Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Curbside service is available for checkouts and business services. Free Wi-Fi is available 24/7. Check out our website www.banderacountylibrary.org for all up-to-date information.
Happy tales, y’all.
