Bandera shares big heart
When the six-member Coiner family’s home and car were destroyed by fire early January, things looked like they couldn’t be worse.
But this is Bandera, where a neighbor’s big problem makes them part of your family, as seen at a benefit at Red Horse Saloon last month.
“I was very amazed at the number of people who came to help us, and we are so thankful,” dad Leonard Coiner said.
Other members of the family present included mother Ashley Coiner, Amelia Wachel-Coiner, 8, Jaydin Coiner, 17, Dustin Coiner,19, Wyatt Coiner, 21.
Red Horse Saloon owner Alana Smith seemed to be everywhere at the Benefit when she stopped to talk to the Bulletin.
Smith said her location has hosted many benefits over the years, with this one the latest example of a community coming together to help its own.
