Baubles and Boots gets new date

The 16th Baubles and Boots gala has moved dates for the second time in two years due to COVID-19 safety concerns, the second time in as many years the event has moved dates.

“This year, we worried that holding the event in January would be too soon after the May event, so we pushed it slightly and it will be held on Saturday, Feb. 12th at Antler Oaks Lodge and RV Resort from 5-8” said BISD Education Foundation President Alyssa Cothran, adding the Foundation hopes the Valentine’s Day spirit will contribute to the event.

Last year, the event, which is usually held in January, was moved to May and ticket sales were limited.

“Even with the lower tickets and the different time of year, we had a record year and raised over $40,000 between sponsorships, donations and auction proceeds,” said Cothran.

Cothran said this year’s event will start the evening with hors d’oeuvres, drinks and mingling.

Several auction items will be available during the night, with a live auction to commence at some point in the evening.

Tickets are available to purchase from BISD board members.

“If anyone is interested in purchasing tickets, but don’t know a board member, they can call central office, or they can email bisdeducationfoundation@gmail.com, We will get them taken care of,” she said.
