Commissioners increase county plat fees
Following a consideration to revise the platting and permitting fee schedule, the Bandera County Commissioners voted unanimously in favor to adopt a few revisions and fee increases to the final platting process of the Subdivision and Land Development Regulations.
Before presenting recommendations to the court, County Engineer Dieter Werner said, “A lot of this is housekeeping changes that needed to be done.”
One of Werner’s approved proposals required road and drainage construction plans to be approved by the County Engineer before the final plat is approved by Commissioners’ Court.
Another approved proposal said Bandera County and the Bandera County River Authority and Groundwater District make no representation or guarantee as to water quality or that a present or future adequate water supply exists.
The Residential Development Permit Application was raised to $50 from $25, and the Commercial Development Permit Application was raised to $400 from $200.
A significant increase was made to the Major Subdivision Plat Application from $500 to $3000 plus $250 per lot.
“This”, said Werner, “is to cover construction inspection.”
“And hours of phone calls,” added Commissioner Jody Rutherford.
The Minor Subdivision Plat Application was revised from 33 lots or less to 20 lots or less and does not include any public dedication or infrastructure. it was also raised to $500 from $150.
Current replat fees of $150 plus $90 public notice fee are unchanged.
Per Werner, fees shall be payable to the County Clerk at the time of filing the final plat.
Current land development and permitting fees are available from the office of the County Engineer. Current filing, recordation, and document handling fees are available from the office of the County Clerk.
“Even with all these changes, we are still the most reasonable of all the surrounding counties,” said Commissioner Bobby Harris.
