Delegates present at March 21’s Bandera County Republican Party Convention voted in favor, though not unanimously, of sending 41 resolutions for consideration at June’s Texas Republican Party Convention, which will be held in Houston on June 16.
Current precinct chairs presided over their precinct’s proceeds: Conrad “Butch” Striegl (Precinct 101); Dary Hasty (305); Rene Leith (306); Dora Schneider (407); and Deanna Skoglund (408).
Those precincts without current precinct chairs elected: Becky Lay (Precinct 203); Bobby Harris (204); Kevin Holdsworth (409) and Becky Gring (410).
Based off their titles, which Precinct 305 Chair Darcy Hasty said could be misleading, Resolutions included a proposed ban on school pronoun policies, school transparency of student mental health issues, opposing President Biden’s “America the Beautiful” program, withdrawing Texas from the Electronic Registration Information Center, making voter fraud a felony, opposing climate change-related legislation that obstructs transportation, strengthening the Texas electrical grid, prohibiting government contracts with abortion providers and more.
Resolutions from 254 Texas counties will be presented at the state party’s convention for consideration, debate, amendment and adoption or rejection.
