COVID cases increase

Bandera County Emergency Management announced Friday there were 20 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Bandera County from June 24 to June 30, an increase from the previous weeks’ number of eight.
The increase matched statewide trends, with COVID-19 cases rising 21 percent compared to last week at 74,652 cases, according to the Coronavirus Resource Center at Johns Hopkins University.
Johns Hopkins also reported there were 111 new deaths in Texas attributed to COVID-19.
No new deaths were reported in Bandera County, keeping the death count since the start of the pandemic at 77.
Hospitalizations rose statewide by 19.7 compared to the previous week, with 2,460 people hospitalized in the state.
