Dems hosting environmentalist
This Saturday at the next meeting of the Bandera County Democrat Club, Margo Deke Griffin of Friends of Hondo Canyon will speak on current efforts to protect Bandera County’s pristine water resources.
According to a release from the club, she has been leading efforts to prevent treated domestic wastewater effluent from being discharged into the pristine streams in Bandera County.
“Margo will share with us what she has learned about water issues in Texas, from surface and groundwater stores (water availability) and the disposal of wastewater (water quality),” read the statement. “Water may become more precious than oil. We as a community need to engaged in constructive discussions on how to best manage it.
The meeting will be held 1 p.m. this Saturday, May 14, at the BEC Community Room, located at 3172 Hwy 16 N in Bandera.
