Editor’s Note: Next week’s election results will arrive after the Bulletin’s press deadline for next week’s paper. They will be published in print the following week and available ASAP on our website, banderabulletin.com

Early voting for the March 1 Texas Primary ends Friday, with results for most races, including Bandera County, expected Tuesday night.

According to numbers from the Texas Secretary of State's office, 1,130 Bandera County residents voted early last week, accounting for just under 6.5 percent of registered voters in the county.

That number reflects early voting by mail and in-person early voting for Democrats and Republicans.

Early voting continues this week and concludes on Friday, February 25, ahead of March 1's Election Day.

Voters will pick nominees for Texas’ governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, land commissioner, agriculture commissioner, comptroller and railroad commissioner, as well as legislative and county races.

Locally, there are contested races for County Judge, Justice of the Peace (Precinct 4) and County Commissioner (Precinct 2). The Bulletin published a Q&A with these candidates in its February 9 issue. Copies are available at the Bulletin’s office.

Texas Secretary of State John. B. Scott’s office provides a website that allows voters to see who is on the ballots in all races at votetexas.gov. Non-partisan voting guides are also available at the Bandera Public Library.
