Medina injuries lead to Bobcat loss
The Bobcats played with heart and pain in their playoff game on Thursday, November 11, at Fredericksburg, but lost 53-20.
The game capped a good season for the team and new Head Coach Mark Coley at 4-0 in district.
“The kids played hard but losing three two-way starters during the course of the game made it very hard to beat a good Lometa team,” Coach Coley said.
Quarterback Wyatt Boatman went 16 for 40 for 219 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.
Branson Wickham led the way in receiving, catching three for 89 yards and two touchdowns.
Nate Aguilar also contributed a touchdown to the game, carrying three times for seven yards and catching two for nine yards.
Elsewhere in receiving, Britton Wickham caught four for 37 yards, TJ DeLeon caught 3 for 22 yards, David Briley had one 20-yard catch, Will Derry had two receptions totaling 19 yards, Dawson Simons had one 19-yard catch and Kai Patterson had one four-yard catch.
DeLeon also had three carries for a total of 15 yards, and Will Derry had two carries for nine yards.
“I am proud of the kids for winning the 16-1A championship and am already looking forward to defending our title next year,” Coach Coley said.
