Musician’s reunion celebrating 45th year

This year, Buck Sloan and his wife, Shirley, return to Bandera to head the free 45th Annual Musician’s Reunion at Mansfield Park for a full week of singing, music and dancing.

Shirley says it will likely be the last year for the event, which will be held this year August 15-22.

The couple has held the reunion since they were married on March 6, 1976.

Buck Sloan, who’s been named a living legend by the Bandera Music History Project Hall of Fame, and his musician friends play country tunes for free well into the night.

Potluck dinner, music and dancing is expected every evening at 5 p.m, though attendees shouldn’t be surprised if the entertainment starts sooner.

Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs, camping supplies, snacks and fans.

Mansfield Park is located at 2886 highway 16 North outside of Bandera.
