New COVID cases down
Bandera County Emergency Management reported Tuesday that there were six new cases of COVID-19 in Bandera County between May 6 and 12.
That number is less than the nine new cases reported the week before, according to Bandera County Emergency Management.
The number of new COVID-19 cases in the state during the past week rose slightly to 24,092, according to the Coronavirus Resource Center at Johns Hopkins University, with 73 new deaths reported — also a slight increase.
Once again, the number of lab-confirmed COVID-19 hospitalizations in Texas stayed steady, with 772 reported by the Texas Department of State Health Services.
The number of Texans who are fully vaccinated now stands at 17.641 million, or 60.5 percent of the state’s population; 6.821 million Texans have received a booster dose, according to DSHS.
Those numbers are less at the county level, with 46.04 percent of all Bandera residents being vaccinated.
