New visitor center progressing
The Bandera County Commissioners will hear a proposal regarding the first phase of the project for a new visitor’s center during Feb. 9’s Commissioners’ Court.
The agenda for Thursday’s meeting says Fisher Heck Architects will present a proposal involving demolition and stabilization packages for the Old Jail and Courthouse to make a new home for the Bandera County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Judge Evans said during a February 2022 court meeting the county has about $600,000 collected Hotel Occupancy Tax that could go toward the project.
Other agenda items include considering policy revisions on county assets and considering adding new phones to some county offices.
Castle Lake Ranch will be presenting a request to replat a section in two lots, while the Precinct Four-located Winans Creek Ranch will present a plat establishing a new development consisting of three phases and 210 lots.
Bandera County Commissioners’ Court meets at 10 a.m. the second and fourth Thursday of every month at the Bandera County Courthouse on Main Street.
