Pipe Creek Dental Center holds grand opening
The Pipe Creek Dental Center hosted its official grand opening this past Saturday. Dr. Carolyn Walker brought out margaritas and homegrilled hot dogs for the patients and chamber members in attendance to celebrate the official opening of the practice in Pipe Creek.
While Walker has more irons in the fire than just the Pipe Creek location, she clearly favors this spot. After moving into the Latigo Ranch subdivision in Pipe Creek, Walker decided she wanted to take part in the friendly Hill Country business scene.
She took over the Pipe Creek practice 18 months ago and has since been improving the building and getting the new venture started. She has added a room, remodeled, added outside stairs and repainted the exterior.
While her Pipe Creek practice is thriving, it is due strictly to “word of mouth” referrals. Her patients are just as enthusiastic about it as she is.
As the patrons were chatting, one of Walker’s patients, Reagan, approached with his own story. He remarked the Pipe Creek Dental Center staff was so “nice” to him he decided to treat them all to gift cards. He was amazed when he got a flood of “thank you” notes in the mail.
The practice makes a habit of treating all patients with a kind and attentive attitude. Walker had many patients attend the opening as well as a full contingent of Chamber of Commerce members.
As the group finished up their drinks and chili dogs, the chamber stood for a picture with the staff before moving to the front of the building for the traditional photo of the ribbon cutting.
Walker took the big scissors and snipped the red ribbon to “officially” open the business. Associate Dentist Kelsey Garza and all the clinic staff joined Walker in welcoming the crowd. Walker’s parents also were a part of the festivities.
Walker is a veteran dentist with over 20 years of experience. She knew she wanted to become a dentist early on in her life when she spoke with a family friend who was a dental hygienist.
By age 16, Walker was assisting in a dental office and later made her way to UTSA for her degree. She practices general, restorative, and orthodontic dentistry to fill all her patients’ needs. She is licensed in general and cosmetic dentistry. She has stayed local and is looking to make the Pipe Creek practice thrive.
