Speech, debate team soars

The BHS speech and debate team had a busy Saturday this past weekend with a UIL Student Activities onference at the University of Texas at Austin in the morning followed by a tournament at Hays High School in the afternoon.

The Bulldogs placed indivually in multiple categories. Braden Valle placed third in Prose, with Savannah Venegas coming in at second. Steven Koonce and Lillian Dean placed fourth and third respectively in poetry. Cole Grothues place third in Congress and sixth in LD Debate.

Bulldogs Elias Toomire and Micah McCreary also placed in LD Debate, with Toomire coming in fourth and McCreary in fifth.

Elijah Sarazua and Cassie Steffler placed third in Policy Debate.
