VFD fish fry fills tummies
The Medina Volunteer Fire Department Fish Fry last Saturday was one fire the department did not have to worry about.
In fact a lot of hungry people lineup in the fire station for the legendary fish fry meal.
Medina VFD President Terry Thomas was greeting and shaking hands of newcomers and veterans to the event.
“This is our annual fish fry, and we have been holding it on Sunday but thisyear we decided to do different,” said Thomas.
A lot of people are in town (many from and the Medina Street Sale on Maine Street) and the weather is great with the sun out and blue sky,” Thomas said.
The president and 10-year VFD veteran praised the members of fire department, including recent additions like Mark Stroud.
Stroud said he joined the fire department at end of summer 2020 and after moving from Alvin Texas.
“It is a little town and my wife and I wanted to serve our new community,” said Stroud.
Stroud added he and his wife feel privileged and blessed to be with VFD.
