LINDON GERALD KELLEY

Lindon Gerald Kelley, age 99 years YOUNG passed away on May 6, 2022, at Riverhills Health and Rehab, in Kerrville, Texas. He left this world peacefully, surrounded by loved ones.

Lindon was born on April 27, 1923, in Medina, Texas to parents, O.H. and Clara Kelley. He was the second oldest child and the last to pass away. His siblings included his older brother, Olin Kelley, his younger brother, Victor Lamar Kelley, and his younger sister, Eva Dene Kelley Murphy.

Lindon is survived by his two boys, Jerry Lynn Kelley of Bergheim, Texas, and David Emory Kelley (Carla) of Bandera, Texas. The strong male lineage continued with the birth of his three grandsons: Darren Lynn Kelley of Conroe, Texas, David Emory Kelley II (Lisa) of Fort Worth, Texas, and Patrick Allen Kelley of Bandera, Texas. He became a Great Grandpa with the birth of his first great grandchild, a GIRL, Brittany McCullough. More greats soon followed (and more girls) with the births of Sierra Kelley, Shyann Kelley, and a BOY, Lindon Kelley, all from Conroe, Texas. Next came Danielle Kelley, Sadie Kelley, Cayce Kelley, and three more boys; Cameron Kelley, Nicholas Kelley, and Keaton Kelley, all from Fort Worth, Texas. Lindon remained long enough on this earth to welcome two great-great grandchildren; Lacee Hearn and Ronan Kelley-Stewart. As a blended family he also welcomed and loved his step-grandchildren; Kimberly Phillips (Kyle), Timothy Lukachik (Teva), and Christopher Lukachik (Vickie). They brought him even more great grandchildren; Devin Lukachik, Tyler Lukachik, Peyton Lukachik, and Ridley Lukachik. His long arms and big heart had no problem holding them all close to his heart. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Especially endeared to him was Sam Kelley (Tammye), Michael Keese, and Greg Murphy (Lisa).

Lindon lived in Medina, Texas all his younger years, graduating from Medina High School in 1941. After graduating he attended business college in San Antonio. He enlisted in the Army in 1943 and married his first love, Geraldine Keese upon enlisting. They were the first couple to be married in the First Baptist Church in Medina. He proudly served his country during WWII. After his discharge he found a job with the Coca Cola company in Houston, Texas. He worked for Coca Cola for 40 years and retired in 1987. While working in Houston he bought and maintained a one-hundred sixty-acre ranch in his hometown of Medina. It became known as the “Kelley Ranch” and many memories were made there. He moved back to his beloved home in Medina and quickly took over the project of remodeling the home of his parents. His wife, Geraldine, passed away in 1993. He married again in 1996 to Faye Keese. Faye passed away in 2008. He always told people that he had finest two wives in the whole world!

Lindon was a self-made man…an inventor, an engineer, a home builder, a furniture craftsman, and a family man. He enjoyed watching baseball (Go Astros) and football (any team Texan!). He was an active Mason, a patriot, and a true man of God. He will always be remembered, loved, and missed by his large extended family and many friends.

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 12, 2022, from 5 to 7 PM at Grimes Bandera Funeral Chapel in Bandera, Texas. Funeral services were held on Friday, May 13, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Grimes Bandera Funeral Chapel followed by interment at Oak Rest Cemetery in Medina, Texas.
