Volleyball brings alumni together
Bandera High School alumni of all ages gathered at the Bandera ISD Competition gym Wednesday, August 11, for some friendly competition.
“I was very excited to see the number of alumni that showed up to play and the community support in the stands. We hope to continue to do this in the future,” said Brooke Ashcraft, Bandera High School Assistant Athletic Director.
The event featured several games, and the players were of all ages, each playing with enthusiasm.
The gallery of parents, kids, and friends cheered for all the alumni teams, some so hard they were left hoarse from yelling.
In non-alumni volleyball news, the season is ian full swing.
Earlier this month the Lady Bulldogs began their season with a 6-0 scrimmage record, though losses would eventually bring it to a 6-6.
The Bandera Lady Bulldogs volleyball team scrimmaged against Navarro, Luling, New Braunfels Christian Academy, Southwest, Wagner and Brackenridge over the weekend of August 6-7, defeating every team.
That 6-0 scrimmage would end with losses in all three matches against Cornerstone on August 10 and Round Rock on August 12.
“We played tough, but could not get it done,” said coach Sananda Molina.
The Lady Bulldogs will compete next in the San Antonio ISD Tournemanet on August 20 and 21.
The District 28-4A schedule will begin on September 24 with a home game against Boerne.
