Bobcats fall 93-74
When a high school football game has a total score of 167, it’s easy to think it was a one-side avalanche win. Not always.
The Rochelle Hornets’ 93-74 win was an offense game, the defeat bringing the Medina Bobcats’ record to 1-2.
“We played hard but made too many mistakes on both sides of the ball and in the kicking game to win against a good football team. We will continue to work to get better and eliminate mistakes,” said Head Football Coach Mark Coley.
Quarterback Wyatt Boatman went 15 for 30 for 338 yards and six touchdowns.
Dawson Simons had 10 catches for 123 yards and three touchdowns.
Britton Wickham had four catches for 82 yards and one touchdown.
Nate Aguilar scored six catches for 116 yards and two touchdowns.
Will Derry had one catch for 10 yards.
Britton Wickham kicked six PATs for 12 points.
Kai Patterson had two catches for 8 yards.
Nate Aguilar caught two kickoff returns for 80 yards and one touchdown.
Ty Hill and Nate Aguilar each had one fumble recovery.
Team tackles were Dawson Simons with 12, Nate Aguilar with seven, Britton Wickham, Wyatt Boatman and Kai Patterson with six and Davis Briley and Ty Hill with three.
Medina travels to San Antonio Atonement Academy on Friday, September 24, then continues their road trip in St. Stephens on October 1 before returning home on October 8 to face Prairie Lea.
