Bobcats fall to Santa Anna
The Medina varsity football team lost to Santa Anna with a final score of 65-20 last Friday night.
“Our kids played hard but were undermanned versus the senior-laden Santa Anna team. We hope to rebound next week,” said Head Football Coach Mark Coley.
Quarterback Wyatt Boatman was 12 out of 22 for 157 yards and 3 touchdowns.
In receiving, Dawson Simons had three catches for 50 yards and 2 touchdowns, Will Derry got two catches for eight yards, Britton Wickham had one catch for 38 yards.
Boatman had a pair of kickoffs for 44 yards total.
Boatman had three tackles, Simons six, Patterson four, Wickham three and Brandon Harms and Nate Aguilar had two each.
The Medina Bobcats travel to Austin this Friday to face St. Stephen’s before returning home to open district play against Prairie Lea on October 8 and Leakey on October 15.
