Running event benefits local cancer warrior
An October 30 running event dubbed Breast Run Ever featuring a 5k, 2.5k, a costume contest, food trucks, bounce house, DJ and more will aid local Krstyal Tripp and her family with expenses related to cancer treatment and surgery.
According to event organizers, Tripp was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer in spring 2021, completed chemo earlier this month and still has scans and surgery to fully remove any possibility.
All proceeds from The Breast Run Ever will go directly to Tripp to help pay for medical expenses and living expenses following surgery, according to event organizers.
The Breast Run Ever will be held on October 30 at 414 Bear Creek Road in Pipe Creek with two races: a 5k run at 9:30 and a 2.5k at 9:40.
Tickets are $10 for the 5k, $5 for the 2.5k and $5 for all others, except children aged five and under, who are free.
The event will have two bounce houses, a DJ, photo opportunities from CardMyYard in Boerne, an optional foam ending to the run and food trucks.
All food trucks have been asked to donate 20 percent of their profits to the event.
Event participants will receive a wristband, sticker, koozie and free beer or beverage at the end of the race.
The event is BYOB following the race.
Those not wishing to run can still order event shirts through October 8.
