Confederate float stirs outrage
While standing on the courthouse steps on Saturday (Aug. 31), I was appalled to see that the Sons of the Confederacy had a float in the Labor Day parade.
This may have been acceptable prior to 1865, but it is not in 2019. Since when did the United States start honoring losers?
More importantly, how would our black brothers and sisters feel seeing this symbol of bigotry and hatred? Whoever was responsible for this atrocity should resign or be fired.
