Body found in field identified

A body discovered in a field in the Timbercreek subdivision on Highway 16 near the Bandera/Medina County line has been identified as Michael Moreno.

Moreno was reported missing in San Antonio on May 18.

Moreono’s body was discovered partially decomposed on May 28 after a resident noticed buzzards circling and went to investigate.

After discovering shoes, the resident called authorities.

Bandera County Chief Deputy Matt King said the autopsy results reported the body had bullet holes in the back and had been deceased for approximately two weeks.

Initial autopsy results were unable to determine an identity, and dental records were sent off for further investigation; results were checked against missing person reports.
