RONALD CALVIN SWANNER
Ronald Calvin Swanner, age 66, of Bandera, Texas, passed away peacefully, June 18, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family, after a long illness.
He was a member of the Bandera Church of Christ and previously served as a deacon at the Stringtown Rd. Church of Christ. Ronald strived to faithfully serve his Lord daily.
Ronald was born January 31, 1955, in Hawthorne, California, to Donald Calvin Swanner and Donna Kay Morris.
Ronald married the love of his life, Reba Faulkinberry, June 27, 1975, in Comanche, Texas.
He served in the United States Navy. specializing as an Aircraft Corrosion and Hydraulic Mechanic.
He was employed by General Dynamics, Mooney and Boeing. He also worked for Comanche ISD and Medina ISD and he and his wife were house parents at Medina Children’s Home for many years.
He was survived by his wife of 46 years, Reba and four children; Gary Swanner and his wife Hillarie of Kerrville, Melissa Swanner of Bandera, David Swanner of Bandera, and Amy Lujan and her husband, Nathan of Pflugerville, 12 grandchildren- Cody, Stephen, Haley and Ashley Swanner of Kerrville. Michael and Kaylyn Huerta of Bandera, Chris and Landon Robie of Kerrville, Johnathan, Riley, Jordan and Jackson Swanner of Bandera, 6 siblings; Bryan Swanner and wife, Jackie of Ruidoso NM, Laura Lynn Swanner, Sandy Dickey and husband, Jerry of Comanche, Becky Johnson and husband, Malcolm of Abilene, James Atchley and wife, Rose of Ruidoso NM, and Scott Atchley, two uncles; CW Swanner of Gorman and Roger Morris.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Kay Swanner, his grandparents, Calvin McGary(Gary) and Stella Swanner of Gorman, Ritchard and Irene Morris of California and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
Services will be at the Stringtown Road Church of Christ in Medina, Texas on June 26, 2021 at 10:00am. Interment will be at Board Church Cemetery near Comanche Texas at a later date.
