Riverfest location change met with approval
The 24th Bandera Riverfest’s move from the usual location at Bandera City Park to the Twin Elm Guest Ranch got a lot of thumbs up, according to Bandera Business Association (BBA) President Cindy Beckham.
“We had a good turnout, and a lot of visitors said they liked having more room to move around at Twin Elm Guest Ranch than at the Bandera City Park,” she said.
BBA sponsors the popular event, which is always held on the last Saturday in June.
“Overall, we are really happy with the results,” Beckham said. “From the car show to the BBQ cookers to venders, we got a lot of positive comments from people attending the event including a lot of visitors from out of town.”
Beckham said that the location of next year’s event has not yet been determined.
This year’s festivities included food, beer/wine, arts and crafts, music and bands, a sanctioned BBQ Cook-Off, an open car show and many other fun activities for both children and adults.
The main attraction, of course, was the river itself.
Parents, grandparents and children sat on folding chairs on orin the river while others ventured into the river to splash and play.
