The King is Coming
While we wait for our King to come, our thoughts turn to the great Tribulation (Matthew 24:21-22) that takes place before He returns. Perhaps the coronavirus pandemic was the beginning of the tribulation. What follows is described in Revelation 6:17: “The day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand.”
Some of the descriptive Biblical chapters that follow 6:17 can be interpreted in figurative language and include many millions of people being killed. The rest of this column is in plain (not figurative) English and allows us to take some natural action.
We received a warning by the cyberattack of the colonial pipeline that contains 45% of the fuel consumed by the East Coast. We were not prepared, our whole national infrastructure is not prepared to confront cyberattacks by adversarial nations such as China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, and criminal entities.
The gov’t commissioned EMP Task Force has reported for years to Congress that we are not prepared in the event of an Electro-Magnetic Pulse (EMP) attack upon our electrical grid or any military or critical civilian target. Our own Intelligence Dept. reports our major adversaries have such a capability. China has also developed a weapon against an EMP attack from us. They would most likely start a war with the U.S. by invading Taiwan who we are committed to defend.
However, the more likely major attack would be by germ warfare, plagues, bringing death, mourning and famine (starvation) (Rev. 18:8) which would kill multi-millions of people Just as covid-19 has killed so many. China is experimenting with mutations of the coronavirus involving pandemic pathogens at their Wohan lab. Example: the current Peru variant. Our lab directors state, “these could be extremely dangerous as it spreads across species.” Our preparation for this attack would include a large number of hospital beds, medical treatment supplies, trained personnel and link to a major hospital.
I repeat Revelation 6:17: ”The day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand.”
As the Great Tribulation closes, King Jesus’s return to earth will be heartily welcomed (Revelation 19) by His brethren, God’s children.
This article closes my series on “The King is Coming.”
Should I return to the Bulletin, my next column will be titled, “Priests and Kings” from Revelation 1:6 and 5:10.
