JOHNNIE “J.J.” L. GILES

Johnnie “J.J.” L. Giles of Lakehills, Texas, passed away July 6, 2021.

Johnnie was born on July 13, 1944, in Athens Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Carolen Giles; daughters, Susan McMahon (Randy) and Tammie Turner; granddaughters, Felicia Carter (David) and Brittany McMahon; great-grandchildren Bryan Carter, Scout Carter and Christopher Gregory.

He was preceded in death by parents, Archie and Mary Giles; grandson James McMahon; son-in-law, William B. Turner.

Johnnie served in the Army National Guard and U.S. Air Force and worked for Dow Chemical. His hobbie included fishing, watching college football, gardening, working on cars and woodworking.

J.J. was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, but probably his favorite was sitting with a fishing rod in his hands. He was known to be generous with all that he had. He was an ordained minister.

A celebration of life gathering will be held July 31, 2021, at Lakehills Methodist Church, 150 Avenue J in Lakehills, Texas.
