If you are on Medicare or about to get onto Medicare but have some questions, register for our upcoming series called Medicare 101.
Classes covering the ins and outs of what can seem very daunting will begin on September 1 and occur monthly until December.
Class size is limited so everyone’s questions can be answered. There will be a morning session and an afternoon session to accommodate different schedules. Call the Library to sign up or you can sign up on our website www.banderacountylibrary.org.
Storytime is expanding to include preschool children up to third grade! On Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Miss Pattie has prepared a variety of crafts to go along with the week’s theme.
Each storytime session begins with song and dance and the group follows along as Miss Pattie reads a fun story. We hope to see you then!
The library is a great place to host your meetings. We have a larger meeting space equipped with audiovisual and a small kitchen that can host up to 25 people. There is also a conference room style space that can be reserved.
If your group needs a space to meet, contact the Library Director to get more details.
Don’t forget, the library has recently added notary services to the roster of resources offered. Appointments are suggested for this service.
New titles out this week include a much-anticipated mystery by James Lee Burke titled “Another Kind of Eden.”
In the early 1960s, aspiring writer Aaron Holland Broussard hops off a train in Denver to see the sweeping beauty of the American West. Aaron finds work on a farm where he meets a young college student and talented artist named Joanne McDuffy.
Aaron and Joanne hit it off right away, but their attraction is complicated by Joanne’s affair with a shady professor. Aaron soon becomes the target of an ominous father-son team who manage to get him involved in a series of murders.
The glorious peaks of the Rockies and the crisp mountain air seem less inviting now as Aaron discovers the beautiful landscape is home to tremendous evil. Aaron commits to facing down all these enemies for the woman he loves including a shadowy figure who may or may not be human.
The Bandera Library is open Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Curbside service is available for checkouts and business services. Free Wi-Fi is available 24/7.
