RICHARD THOMASON TOMPKINS
Richard Thomason Tompkins of Bandera Texas died August 31 in Arlington, Virginia.
Richard was born on April 29, 1941, in Nacogdoches, Texas, to Reuel Christopher Tompkins and Lurlyne Thomason. He worked as a Human Resources Manager for DuPont, a consultant and as a rancher during his retirement.
Mr. Tompkins is preceded in death by his parents and wives, Rebecca Ann (Stafford) Tompkins and Paula (Lewis) Tompkins.
He is survived by sons, R. Travis Tompkins (Leda), Chad A. Tompkins (Cathy); daughter, Ivy Lyn Tompkins; granddaughters, Kayla Tompkins, Elise Tompkins, Morgan Tompkins, Grace Tompkins; sister, Susan Ohlendorf (Tommy); brother, Christopher Tompkins; nieces, Wendy Greinke (Greg), Erin Davis (Bobby); nephews, Shawn Adams (Margaret), Keith Tompkins (Angela), Steve Tompkins (Debbi); also, Debbie Ericson (Joe), W. Scott Lewis (Kim).
A memorial will be held September 18, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8819 US-87, Victoria, Texas. Rev. Stephen Carson of St. Francis Episcopal of Victoria, Texas, will officiate. Internment will follow.
Funeral Home services were provided by Grace Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Alzheimer’s Association or the Former Texas Rangers Foundation.
