ROBERT “JOE BOB” SORTER

Robert “Joe Bob” Sorter, 75, of Hondo, Texas passed away on Aug. 28, 2019 in Whitewright, Texas.

He was born in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born to Raymond and Betty Sorter on July 24, 1944.

He married Barbara Sneed on April 2, 1972 in Dallas, Texas.

He worked as a wrangler for the Flying L Guest Ranch for 11years.

We would like to thank everyone who has been a part of daddy’s life. You all made him a better person, and he enjoyed each and every one of you.

Joe Bob is preceded in death by Raymond his dad, Betty his mom, Diana and Debbie his sisters.

Joe Bob is survived by wife Barbara Sorter; and three children, Johnny Sorter, wife Janis, Sherry Davenport, husband Russell, and Robert Sorter, wife Sherri; three brothers, Buzz, Gene and Rodney; and one sister, Tammy; nine grandchildren, Ladd, James, Tiffany, Shepherd, Fayth, Dakota, JT, CoriLeigh and Wyatt; nine great-grandchildren, James Jr., Jordyn, Jazzlyn, DK, Xavier, Xavian, Violette, Caiden and Luke; as well as many nieces and nephews.

We want to say thank you to Stepping Stones Church for all the love and hospitality through this tough time. We also want to thank Dr. Joseph Thomas for taking such great care of Joe Bob.

God’s timing is everything.

Memorial Service for Joe Bob will be on Oct. 26, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Grimes Funeral Home in Bandera, Texas.
