Beto O'Rourke says he has COVID-19
Robert "Beto" O'Rourke has tested positive for COVID-19, according to a press release from his campaign on Monday afternoon.
"In addition to being fully vaccinated and boosted, I regularly test for COVID-19 while traveling the state for town hall meetings," O'Rourke said in a statement. "I tested negative yesterday morning before testing positive today. I have mild symptoms and will be following public health guidelines."
His statement was also shared on his Twitter.
O'Rourke is currently running for Governor of Texas as a Democrat. He served as a U.S. Representative for Texas' 16th Congressional District from 2013-2019 and was candidate for the U.S. Senate in 2018 and for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020.
