Only a couple more days left until the Bandera High School Class of 2022 graduates. On behalf of all of us here at the Bandera Public Library, congratulations to you all and we are sending you our best wishes for your futures.

If your future plans include college, be sure to check out the library’s free databases of tools to help you navigate this next chapter of your life. In our TexShare Database, you can find organizational skills tutorials, getting the most out of your college courses, and how to find on-campus academic support. There are even online courses for math, reading, science skills reviews as well as preparation materials for college placement exams.

If college is not in your plans, we have you covered too! Check out the Career Center Plus database to get access to test prep for things like the civil services, commercial driver’s license (CDL), cosmetology, hospitality, electrician and plumbing, military exams and many more.

Take advantage of these free resources with your library card or you can use one of the public computers here at the library to access this material.

Tomorrow, May 26, at 3:30 p.m. the Bandera County Gardeners will be meeting in the Downstairs Meeting Room to discuss a wide array of topics on gardening here in the area. All are welcome so come by with questions or recent success stories.

As a reminder, the library will be closed on Monday, May 30th in observance of Memorial Day. Memorial Day is a time to reflect on and remember those who have given their lives in military service to this country. We thank those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. The library will reopen on Tuesday, May 31, at 9 a.m.

Those who are cowboy history buffs should save the date for June 7 at 5:30 p.m. for a guest lecture from the director of the Frontier Times Museum, Rebecca Norton.

Ms. Norton will be presenting on “The Forgotten Cowboy: Hollywood Myths and Trail-driving Truths” which will be separating fact from fiction in the history of the cowboy. Space is limited so be sure to reserve a seat. The presentation will be in the Downstairs Meeting Room and light refreshments will be served.

The Bandera Library is open Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Curbside service is available for checkouts and business services. Free Wi-Fi is available 24/7. Check out our website www.banderacountylibrary.org for all up-to-date information.

Happy tales, y’all.
