CAROL JEAN PRESTON

Carol Jean Preston, 82, of Bandera, Tx., passed away peacefully on June 19th, 2022 in Bandera, Texas.

Carol was born on September 10, 1939 to Ralph Nolan Poffinbarger and Leona Mae Poffinbarger in Princeton, Illinois. SHe attended School of Nursing in Chicago, and became a pediatric nurse at Augustina Lutheran Hospital.

Carol’s primary goal in life was to take care of her family and love everyone she came in contact with. She was known as a caregiver who loved to help everyone and always did it with a joy and a smile on her face. She was a devout Christian and served in her local church in numerous ways. Overall, Carol loved her family and friends dearly and will be greatly missed.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Leona Poffinbarger, her brothers Jim and John Poffinbarger, her first husband Morris Caple, her son Kevin Preston, and her granddaughter Sadie Preston. She is survived by her husband Robert (Bob) Preston, daughter Kathy Whatley (Kyle) son Keith Preston (Lisa), son Daniel Preston (Lori), grandsons Stephen Caple, Bobby (Amanda) and Chris Simmons, Winston Preston, Joe Preston, and Daniel Preston; Granddaughters Mazzy Preston and Hannah Bidlack; Greatgrands Michelle, Jimmy, Miley, Kyley, and Joshua, and a host of nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 25th, 2022 with visitation being from 9-11 a.m., with services following at 11 am at First Baptist Bandera with Rev. Chris McClain and David Collette officiating. Internment will be at Bandera Cemetery.
