Sue Lynn Sherer, age 70, passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 25, 2019, at home in Bandera, Texas surrounded by family and friends.

She was born on Nov. 13, 1948 in McAllen, Texas.

She served as a peace officer for the San Antonio school district and the Bandera County Sheriff’s Department for 13 years.

A 1967 graduate of P.S.J.A High School, she was active in the bi-annual All Class Reunion for 10 years.

She was an accomplished pianist and began playing for a traveling evangelist at the age of 16. She played the piano and keyboard for various churches, groups, weddings and events for over six decades.

The last 10 years, she has been the pianist for the Tarpley Baptist Church.

Along with her may talents, she enjoyed photography, painted in oils including commissioned portraits, and pets and genealogy.

She was insistent that her cooking abilities were slim to none, but there are many witnesses who beg to differ.

Her favorite pastime was playing on her John Deere tractor.

She was preceded in death by her parents Albert Foote Sherer, Jr., and Mary Lou Barnes Sherer, and nephew Christopher Michael Winfield.

She is survived by daughters Kelli Sue Gray and husband Lee of Bandera, and Jeri Dawn Martin of San Antonio, grandson Joshua Alan Walker, wife, Lori, and children Brekken and Jaycee of Bandera, grandchildren Alee Fay Gray, Caiden Ray Gray and Mika Shea Gray, amazing sisters Connie L. Sherer of Lakehills, Texas, Debbie Sherer of Helotes, Texas, and Shelly Fair and husband Jimmie of Stephenville, Texas, a host of nieces and nephews, best friend Jerry Elrod and many, many loving friends.

The family is planning a Celebration of Life which will be held at the Tarpley Baptist Church, schedule pending.
