Applications open for council, mayor
Two Bandera City Council seats and another for Mayor will be voted on November 8, but the application period for a place on the ballot closes Monday, August 22, at 5 p.m.
Those interested in putting their name in the hat, so to speak, can pick up their application packet at Bandera City Hall, located at 511 Main Street in Band
City Hall is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Both positions are for a two-year term expiring November 2024.
The Bandera City Council usually meets on the first and third Thursday of each month at 6 p.m., and some special meetings and workshops are also scheduled.
To be eligible for mayor under Texas Local Government Code, one must be a registered voter and have resided within the municipal limits for at least 12 months preceding the election day.
In order to be eligible for a place on council, a person must be a registered voter and reside on election day in the ward from which they may be elected.
