City schedules budget workshop, public hearings
The City of Bandera has a busy month ahead; after convening for their regular meeting yesterday, the city will hold a public hearing about a community block grant on Thursday and then and have a budget workshop after that.
Later in the month, the city will hold a public hearing about their proposed budget just before their regular meeting on August 16.
August 4’s 5:30 p.m. public hearing at Bandera City Hall concerns the submission of an application to the Texas Department of Agriculture for a Rural Economic Development Pilot Program Grant Texas Community Development Block Grant Program (TxCDBG) grant.
According to the city’s publicly posted agenda, tomorrow’s meeting will give citizens a chance to discuss the citizen participation plan, development of local housing and community development needs, the amount of funding available, all eligible activities and the use of the TxCDBG funds.
Following that public hearing, a budget workshop will be held to discuss the fiscal year utility fund for the animal control, park, streets, water and wastewater departments.
The budget workshop is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
On Tuesday, August 16, a public hearing will be held at Bandera City Hall starting at 5:30 to receive citizen comments for or against the 2022/2023 budget.
Those unable to attend any of the meetings may submit their views and proposals to City Secretary Jill Shelton at Bandera City Hall.
The city can be reached at 830-796-3765.
