County’s COVID cases continue curtailment
Since last Monday, there have been 19 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Bandera County, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services.
That number continues the dwindling of new COVID cases and is down from the previous week’s new case count of 25.
DSHS says there have been 2,778 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Bandera
County to date.
One new probable case was reported, bringing DSHS’s count for probable cases to 1,146.
No new deaths were reported.
The number of new COVID-19 dropped statewide as well, with 72,653 new cases reported by the Coronavirus Resource Center at John Hopkins University.
The University’s center reported there were 154 deaths attributed to COVID-19 in the state last week, which was roughly the same as the week before.
The number of lab-confirmed COVID-19 hospitalizations rose slightly to 3,624 across the state, according to DSHS.
The BA.5 variant is now prevalent in Texas and elsewhere but seems to have less serious effects, especially for people who have been fully vaccinated and boosted, according to health officials.
