MEDINA BOBCATS HEAD TO PLAYOFFS WITH PERFECT SEASON
The undefeated Medina Bobcays ran over Nueces Canyon 62-0 Friday at home in a game that stopped at 2:01 in the second quarter by officials.
The game was the district’s last and sends the team to the playoffs with a 10-0 regular season record and a 4-0 district season.
“Our kids have played very hard and have taken pride in their successes on the field,” said Head Football Coach Mark Coley. “We are especially proud of our defense, who has allowed less than 12 points per game while recording five shutouts in 10 games” he said.
Of the Bobcats’ ten games, only the season opener went full four quarters, while the rest were shortened due to the 45-point mercy rule.
“We are very proud of our young men and the effort they have put into the game this year, said Coley.”
The Bobcats travel to play Chester in Temple this Friday, November 11 for the bi-district game.
