JAMES F. “HEAVY” BOYD
James F. “Heavy” Boyd age 89 of Bandera, Texas, passed away on March 9, 2023, as a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Darlene Boyd; his beloved daughter, Debbie Stahmann and son-in-law, Robert Stahmann; grandson, Allen Torans, Jr., wife Kelly and great granddaughter, Karter; granddaughter, Nicole Dominguez, husband Cez, great grandsons, Ethan and Greyson; plus sister-inlaw, Mary Ellen Joiner. The grandchildren and especially great grandchildren always brought so much joy, laughter, love and smiles to him. He is further survived by one brother, Wayne Boyd and a host of loving nieces and nephews, including several friends. Jim was born January 19, 1934, in Lubbock, Texas, to William and Josephine Boyd. He had ten brothers and one sister. He is preceded in death by nine brothers and his only sister.
Jim attended college at Texas Tech, and then went into the Army from 1954 to 1962. For three years he participated in and won several Golden Glove Heavy Weight Boxing trophies. He worked for McCarty Corporation in Austin, Texas, for 32 years and then retired.
Jim was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved the outdoors. He spent his retirement years on his deck with family and friends drinking his Lone Star Light. He loved feeding the birds, deer, and squirrels and never backed down from a game of dominoes or poker. His many conversations, hugs, love, and laughter will be so deeply missed. Most of all, he was the best husband, Daddy, Papa and friend.

Services will be held at Ebensberger Fisher Funeral Home, 1265 N.
