City officially swears in De Foster, schedules “Meet the Marshal”
Bandera City Marshal Nancy De Foster, who was appointed by the city council on March 21, was officially sworn in to her office by Justice of the Peace Mike Towers on Tuesday, May 2.
During the short officiation, supporters of De Foster packed the small city council room, spilling out into the corridor, then left before the council’s regular meeting commenced.
As the crowd funneled out, De Foster quipped to those who were waiting for her, “You can go next door for libations while I get to work,” then proceeded to take her post for the City Council meeting.
A ‘Meet the Marshal” event has been scheduled for Saturday, May 20, at American Legion Post 157 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
“Marshal Nancy De Foster is looking forward to meeting our Bandera community,” reads a flyer for the event. “Please come and ask questions, share your ideas and hopes for the City of Bandera Marshal’s Office.”
The legion is located at 205 12th Street.
