Teitge wins sheriff runoff, slated to replace incumbent Butts

Josh Teitge is slated to replace Dan Butts as Bandera County Sheriff following a 15 percent margin of victory in the Republican Primary Runoff, according to the Bandera County Elections Office. 

Teitge, who currently works as the Florence Chief of Police, received 1,642 votes for 57.92 percent of the vote. 

Butts, who was first elected to the postition in 2012, received 1,193 votes for 42.08 percent of the vote. 

In total, 2,835 voters participated in the runoff.  

Nearly 5,600 people cast their vote for sheriff in the March Republican Primary, where the results were as follows: Will Dietrich 1,313 (23.45%) Butts 1,897 (33.88%)  Teitge 2,389 (42.67%).
