DPS investigating crash at 46/16
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is investigating an Oct. 29 crash at the intersection of Texas 16 and 46 last Tuesday evening, just six minutes before a crash further up Highway 46 near the county line took the lives of a man, woman and their daughter.
"Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2017 white Toyota 4Runner traveling west on State Highway 46 failed to control speed and collided with a 2012 Toyota Tundra," Texas Highway Patrol Sgt. Orlando De Luna Jr. told the Bulletin.
According to DPS, the driver and passenger of the Tundra were transported to University Hospital with injuries, while the driver of the 4Runner was not injured.
Officials say the investigation is ongoing.
Six minutes later, a head-on collision in the 7600 block of Texas 46 West about 1.2 miles from the Bandera/Kendall county line claimed the lives of three people.
Officials say the investigation into that crash is ongoing as well.
