From Your County Gop

In the last three and a half years between eight and twelve million illegal aliens have crossed our border and are loose in the United States. Many of these are known to have ties to terrorist organizations, criminal cartels, and adversarial foreign intelligence agencies. The American taxpayers are footing the bill for many of these people. Violent crimes are being committed in record numbers by foreign invaders. In that same time, food prices have doubled. Energy prices are sky high. Auto insurance has nearly doubled. The American Dream is almost unattainable for most young Americans.

While Bandera County remains solidly red, our votes matter outside of just our own county. Our House member, Congressman Chip Roy, faces re-election. Senator Ted Cruz likewise faces re-election in a tough race, and of course former President Donald Trump needs Texas to win the nation. The Bandera County GOP is determined to help our regional and statewide candidates to run up the votes here to offset blue areas of Texas.

Toward that end, the precinct chairs are making efforts to get a good voter turnout in a county that, sadly, has so often had very low turnout. Some of the highlights to efforts being made are: - Precinct chairs carrying voter registration cards with them for those who are not yet registered or who need to change their registration because of a recent move.

- Flyers being put out in prominent locations around the county to remind people of the voting dates this year (Last day to register to vote is October 7th, early voting begins October 21st and ends 1st November, Election Day is November 5th).

- Some precinct chairs are making efforts to reach out to voters in their precincts who have not voted for the last few election cycles in an effort to renew interest - Voter registration at National Night Out on October 3rd.

- Those who cannot make it to the polls should reach out to the Bandera County GOP. Precinct chairs are making efforts to provide rides for those with no vehicles to get to the polls during both early voting and election day.

Bandera County GOP Chair, Mark Miller, has stated that the most important thing the citizens of Bandera County can do is vote, and get their friends and family to vote. Early voting, something the GOP has long been against on a national level, is something that now needs to be embraced. “Don’t wait!” Miller urged. “Things can go wrong on election day. You may have a family emergency. The weather may be bad. You may have a busy work day. Republicans need to embrace early voting to make sure their voices are heard.”
