Bandera residents will vote to elect a new mayor and fill two City Council positions in the Nov. 5 election.
Candidates for mayor include Suzanne Schauman, Cindy Coffey and Denise Griffin, while Jen Enderson, Josie Evans and incumbents Jeff Flowers and Lynn Palmer will compete for two City Council seats.
At the Bandera County River Authority and Groundwater District (BCRAGD), five director positions are up for election.
In Precinct 1, Incumbents Ernest DeWinne and John Benedict will face Patrick McLean for two seats. In Precinct 2, Incumbent Don Sloan is running unopposed, while Incumbents Melissa Checkovage and Jada Jo Smith are also unopposed in Precincts 3 and 4, respectively.
At the county level, Incumbent Janna Lindig is seeking re-election for county attorney. Other uncontested races include Josh Teitge for sheriff, Troy Konvicka for Precinct 1 commissioner, and Incumbent Jack Moseley for Precinct 3 commissioner.
Incumbent constables Phillip Tobin, Greg Spengler, Don Walters and Rod Chalmers are running unopposed in Precincts 1, 2, 3 and 4 respectively.
Andrea Jankoski is also on the ballot for tax assessor-collector after Rebekah Dolphus, the primary election winner, withdrew her candidacy.
Bandera ISD has two candidates running for Place 3: Incumbent Tiffany Jones and Robert Sanderson. In Place 4, Incumbent Bo Mansfield is running unopposed. The drawing for ballot placement occurred on Aug. 26 at the district office.
At Medina ISD, four seats— Places 2, 3, 6 and 7, thus no election will be held for the district.
Key election dates include Oct. 7, the last day to register to vote, and Oct. 25, the deadline to apply for a mail-in ballot.
Early voting will take place from Oct. 21 to Nov. 1, with Election Day on Nov. 5.
Early voting locations include the Ray Mauer Building (403 12th Street, Bandera), the Lakehills Area Library (7200 FM 1283, Lakehills), and the Medina Annex (161 E. Parker Street, Medina).
Voting hours will vary, with extended hours on Oct. 26 and 27 at the Bandera location.
