The October Book Sale will take place on Saturday, October 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the library meeting room. The November Book Sale will be Saturday, November 2, also from 10 to 2.
Halloween is fast approaching. Volunteers and candy donations are needed for the annual “Track or Treat” at the library. Candy can be dropped off at the library now, while you volunteer to hand it out on Thursday, Halloween, Oct. 31, 5:30 to 7 p.m.
The Pre-School Story Time will take place every Wednesday, from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
The library received a grant from the Kronkosky Foundation to have the walking track refurbished. That is being done now and should be completed on Sept. 26. In the meantime, the track and the playground is shut down to keep everyone safe. Many thanks to the Foundation.
The BYOB (Bring Your Own Book) Book Club, will meet Tuesday, October 8, 1 to 2 p.m. The book recommended for September was “Leadership NOT by the Book” by David Green, founder and CEO of Hobby Lobby, with Bill High. All are welcome to share what we are reading, make recommendations, and discuss all things bookish.
The Evening Book Club will meet Tuesday, October 22, at 5:30 p.m. They will discuss “Rebecca” by Daphne Du Maurier.
The Board will meet on Wednesday, October 9, at 4:30 p.m. The public is welcome.
The Benefits Enrollment Center will be available Wednesday, Oct. 9, 10 a.m. to noon. Sponsored by Silver Sage and the National Council on Aging, they provide application assistance for those over 65 or disabled.
Food Bank application assistance will be offered on Friday, October 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Garden Club will meet on Saturday, October 26, at 11 a.m.
AACOG will help with Medicare Early Enrollment on Thursday, October 24, from 10a.m. to 3 p.m.
The library will host the annual Community Garage Sale on Saturday, Nov. 16, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Vendor space starts at $20, with indoor and outdoor spaces available. Rent your spot now.
The library is pleased to announce they received a 2024 grant from Texas Book Festival, in the amount of $2500, to purchase books for the library. They convey their many thanks.
The library also hosts an Art in the Library Program and they actively seek artists of all genres to display their works. Each artist will exhibit for one month. Although sales are not guaranteed, many sales have resulted and the artist gains name recognition. If anyone is interested in displaying their work, contact Deb Hicks at deborahhicks1365@ icloud.com.
The library hosts other events and many services, such as faxing, copying, laminating, notary, scanning, free Wifi, DVDs, and interlibrary loans. They also offer books in all forms, such as ebooks, audio books, and large print books. They offer Genealogy, with access to Ancestry. com.
