Randle Lee “Randy” Alanis passed from this life Nov. 14, at the age of 72, after a lengthy battle with heart disease. The fourth of five sons born to Dan C. Alanis, Jr. and Frances Polvogt Alanis, Randy grew up in and later raised his own family in the town he loved, Bandera. Playing football for the Bandera Bulldogs in the late 1960’s, Randy graduated with Bandera’s Class of 1970. After graduation, he married Bandera local Jeannie Ullrich and started a family.

Randy and Jeannie were blessed with two sons, Brian, and Brady. Some years later, Randy won the heart of another Bandera sweetheart, Lori Morris. Randy and Lori celebrated a Christmas wedding in 1974 and added Leroy, Adrianne, and Adam to their family. Randy founded Alanis Roofing Company in 1980 and grew that business over forty years, supporting his family and providing stable employment for even more families over the decades. With five children, twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and legions of nieces and nephews, Randy treasured his family and his roles as “Dad,” “Pop,” “Papa” and “Uncle Randy.”

Preceded in death by wife Lori, son Brady and brothers Robert Alanis and Bruce Alanis, Randy is survived by sons Brian Alanis (and wife Lisa), Leroy Brown, Adam Alanis (and wife Emily), daughter Adrianne Alanis Zawadzke (and husband Zack), brothers Dan C. Alanis, III and John L. Alanis, along with all the wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren he felt so blessed to have in his life.

A Celebration of Randy’s life is planned for Dec. 9.
