Bake sale benefits scholarship

The Bandera County Retired Teachers Association (BCRTA) will hold its annual Scholarship Fund Spirit Night on Wednesday, Oct. 16, from 4 to 8 p.m. at The Dough Joe, 702 Main Street.

The Bandera County Retired Teachers Association (BCRTA) will hold its annual Scholarship Fund Spirit Night on Wednesday, Oct. 16, from 4 to 8 p.m. at The Dough Joe, 702 Main Street.

The event will feature a variety of pizza options available for dine-in or takeout, as well as a bake sale with treats from local bakers, offered by donation.

Proceeds from the event will go toward scholarships for Bandera High School and Medina High School seniors pursuing a degree in education.

In past years, the BCRTA has awarded scholarships to local students including Patrick Lasiter, Nicolas Stricker, Melanny Rodriguez, Amberley Patterson, Samantha Reyna, Rio Orion, Austin Wilson, Patricia McCourt, and Elizabeth Collett.

Contributions for the scholarship fund can also be mailed to the BCRTA at 2702 FM 470, Bandera, TX 78003.
