BANDERA, Texas — The Bandera General Store is gearing up for its 6th Annual Gingerbread House Contest, inviting local bakers and holiday enthusiasts to showcase their creativity.
Entries must be delivered to the Bandera General Store, located at 306 Main St., by 3 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6. The public will judge the submissions from Dec. 7 to Dec. 14, with the winners announced at noon on Dec. 14, following a tally of the ballots.
Participants are required to follow specific guidelines, including using a wood or heavy cardboard base no larger than 18-by-18 inches and ensuring that all entries are homemade. Judging criteria will include overall appearance, creativity, and the degree of difficulty.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three entries. Contestants are also reminded to attach their name and phone number to the underside of the base.
